Not all religious denigration is equal, apparently

Do you remember the movie “Religulous”? You probably didn’t see it, but you may remember how hard it worked to denigrate Christian belief. You may also know Bill Maher made that movie. And of course, Bill Maher is a major financier of President Obama’s re-election campaign. Which creates a certain level of irony in light of the current discussion about whether free speech should include speech that offends or denigrates or ridicules a religion and its belief. One wonders why there is such a distinction in reaction to these sorts of speech events.
