A friend of mine passed on a link to a surprising article in the Wall Street Journal that deals with movies on the life of Jesus. It asks a thoughtful question for today, “Imagine meeting a person who had never heard of Easter. If you could use only one film produced in your generation to describe the real meaning of the holiday, which would you use and why?”
“Jesus,” the movie put out by Warner Brothers based on the Gospel of Luke, has been used by Campus Crusade for Christ around the world as a way to communicate the story of Jesus, and it’s been seen by hundreds of millions over the past three decades. I have good friends who work with that ministry, so of course it’s the one I thought of.
The story of the impact of Cecil B. DeMille’s “King of Kings” is amazing. Go read that article. You’ll enjoy it.
